The next Formula 1 race may be a month away, but the fallout from last weekend's Japanese Grand Prix continues to have repercussions across the sport. Max Verstappen, conceding that he could retire from the sport at the end of this season, is already turning talk towards next year and what Red Bull would do if the four-time champion walked away or even went on a sabbatical.

In the meantime, Verstappen will be back at the Nordschleife later this month for Nurburgring 24-hour qualifying. The Dutchman is able to do so because the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which was due to clash with it, was cancelled by the FIA, along with the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Meetings with all five power unit manufacturers - Audi, Ferrari, Ford & Red Bull, Honda and Mercedes - are also due to take place during this month-long break from racing. Lewis Hamilton is hoping for some big changes, but has low expectations.
