Samson scored a century in 52 balls, which was the fastest century of his IPL career. He scored a century for the first time while playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL.

This is also the fifth fastest century for Chennai Super Kings in IPL. The record for the fastest century for CSK is in the name of Murali Vijay, who scored a century in 46 balls against Rajasthan Royals in 2010. Murali Vijay has been holding this record for the last 16 years.
Sanju Samson has come under criticism for his three innings for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026, in which he scored 6, 7 and 9 runs. Samson was criticized for scoring only 22 runs in those three innings. However, his century against Delhi Capitals has silenced his critics.
