The Chennai Super Kings will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in tonight’s game of IPL 2026. But what is their record against each other?

The CSK vs KKR game is Match 22 of IPL 2026. This match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and will see two teams that currently sit towards the bottom of the table face one another.

CSK Vs KKR IPL 2026

The Super Kings have not had the best start to this season. They started this year with a crushing loss against the Rajasthan Royals, followed by a defeat to the Punjab Kings. They then made it three in a row with a massive loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They finally won their first game in their most recent encounter against the Delhi Capitals.

Chennai currently stands ninth on the points table with one win, three losses, two points, and the worst net run rate in the league in four matches.

Meanwhile, the Knight Riders have had a worse outing in this season so far. They started their season off with a defeat against the Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring game. Then came a big loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their third match against the Punjab Kings was washed out, after which they suffered yet another defeat to the Lucknow Super Giants.

Kolkata is currently 10th on the points table with no wins, three losses, one no-result, one point, and a poor net run rate.

CSK Vs KKR Rivalry

Despite the poor standing of these two teams this year, these franchises have a combined eight IPL titles between them. Not only that, but they also share a deep history against each other.

CSK and KKR have faced off in some classics across the years. Not only that, but these are two of the rare teams that have taken on each other in the IPL final on more than one occasion. The first time was in 2012, when the Knight Riders won their first IPL title by defeating CSK in the final. Then, nine years later, in 2021, CSK returned the favour by defeating Kolakta in the final to win their fourth title.
