Runs flowed freely as KL Rahul delivered yet another memorable performance for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2026.
Chasing a massive target of 226 against Rajasthan Royals, KL Rahul once again proved why he thrives against this opposition. The wicketkeeper-batter brought up his eighth 50-plus score against RR, matching the record of AB de Villiers but in just 18 innings compared to ABD’s 20.

The chase began on a strong note, with KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka attacking from the start. Rahul found boundaries early, taking on bowlers like Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer. Delhi Capitals crossed the 50-run mark quickly, finishing the powerplay at 70/0, their second highest against RR in the IPL history.
Pathum Nissanka played a brilliant knock of 62 before getting out in the 10th over but the foundation had already been laid. KL Rahul soon reached his half-century in the 11th over, continuing his consistent run this season.
After Pathum Nissanka’s departure, KL Rahul stitched together a 65-run partnership with Nitish Rana, who contributed before being dismissed by Tushar Deshpande in the 15th over.
KL Rahul’s innings came to an end in the death overs when Archer dismissed him for a well-made 75 off 40 balls. By then, he had already taken the game deep in Delhi’s favor.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals had posted a strong total of 225/6, thanks to a powerful 90-run knock from Riyan Parag. However, Delhi Capitals responded confidently, chasing down the target with ease at 226/3.

The highlight of the chase was the 102-run opening partnership between KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka in under 10 overs, which set the tone for victory.
Though KL Rahul started cautiously, once he settled in, his batting looked effortless, guiding his team to an important win while matching a major IPL record.
