Netflix’s breakout figure-skating romance Finding Her Edge has captured a massive global audience since its early debut, rocketing straight into the top ten streaming charts across over 80 countries. Adapted from Jennifer Iacopelli’s viral BookTok novel, the young adult sports drama struck a chord with its high-stakes athletic tension and a compelling fake-dating narrative. Following its swift renewal by Netflix, production plans are officially solidifying to take Adriana Russo’s journey from the rehearsal rink to the next major competitive stage.
While Netflix officially locked in the greenlight for a second season shortly after the show’s premiere, the cameras are not yet rolling. Production logs indicate that principal photography for Season 2 is scheduled to begin on September 26, 2026.
Filming will take place primarily in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, under the production banner of WildBrain. The initial shooting schedule is targeted to wrap just before the holidays on December 16, 2026. Given the extensive post-production required for editing and dubbing competitive ice sequences, the new season is expected to land on the streamer in the second half of 2027.
The main ensemble that drove the dramatic love triangle and familial pressures of the first season is confirmed to return for the second installment.
Madelyn Keys as Adriana Russo
Ambrosic Way as Brayden Elliot
Olly Atkins as Freddie
Alexandra Beaton as Adriana’s sister
Harmon Walsh in a supporting role
Official casting updates regarding additional competitors or new coaching staff for the upcoming season have not yet been announced by Netflix or showrunner Jeff Norton.
The narrative for the upcoming season will delve deeper into the complicated romantic and familial love triangles established in the debut episodes. Showrunner Jeff Norton confirmed that the storyline will follow Adriana as she navigates her high-pressure skating career alongside her evolving personal dynamics.
While the writing team is keeping specific scripts under wraps, the narrative trajectory is expected to draw heavily from Jennifer Iacopelli’s upcoming sequel novel, On Thin Ice. The plot will focus on Adriana balancing the commercial and competitive realities of her partnership with Brayden, while managing the emotional fallout of her lingering bond with her former partner and first love, Freddie, as the team targets major championship golds.
