In today's times, the Aadhaar card has become the most essential identity document for every Indian. Aadhaar is required for almost every task—from opening a bank account and purchasing a mobile SIM card to availing benefits from government schemes and undergoing identity verification. It has become an integral part of people's lives, making various processes simpler and more transparent. However, if one loses their Aadhaar card and does not remember the number, getting a new one issued can be a major hassle.

Fortunately, UIDAI offers a facility that allows users to easily retrieve their Aadhaar Number or Enrollment ID (EID). Many people are unaware of this and often make repeated visits to cyber cafes or Aadhaar centers. To retrieve your Aadhaar number, you need to have certain specific details handy.

You must have accurate information regarding your full name (as recorded in Aadhaar), registered mobile number, or registered email ID. With these details, you can recover your information via the UIDAI portal. Here is how you can recover your Aadhaar number if you have lost your card and forgotten the number.

How to recover the Aadhaar number online?
Visit the website: Open the official UIDAI website, uidai.gov.in.

Select the option: Go to the 'My Aadhaar' section and click on the 'Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID' option.

Enter details: Enter your full name and either your registered mobile number or email ID.

Verify OTP: Enter the captcha code displayed on the screen and click on 'Send OTP'. Then, enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.

Get Aadhaar number: Upon successful verification, your 12-digit Aadhaar number will be sent to your registered mobile number or email ID.

New Aadhaar App

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a new Aadhaar app to make its digital services more secure, faster, and convenient; this app will replace the older mAadhaar app. The new application is available on both Android and iOS platforms.
