Shahrukh married Gauri and after calling Paris, took her on honeymoon to Darjeeling. Shahrukh had narrated a funny story to his honeymoon to Vicky Kaushal at an event.

Story of Shahrukh and Gauri’s honeymoon

Vicky Kaushal had said at the event, ‘Sir…it has been 27 years since you were married.’ On this, Shahrukh had laughed and said, what are you talking about…we have come as a stylist couple and you have made me old by saying this. After this Vicky Kaushal showed an old picture and asked Shahrukh what is the secret behind this picture? That picture was of Shahrukh and Gauri’s honeymoon, which is one of the cute pictures of Shahrukh and Gauri.

After seeing this picture, Shahrukh Khan had said, ‘This is my favorite photo. When I got married, I was very poor and Gauri was from an upper middle class family. As it happens, I promised her that after marriage, I would take her to Paris on honeymoon, show her the Eiffel Tower, I did all these things to her. But in reality all that was a lie, I had neither money nor air ticket. I did a little convincing and finally I got a chance and we went to Darjeeling to shoot a song from Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.

Shahrukh Khan further said, ‘So I felt that even Gauri has never gone out before so she would not know, so I called her Paris and took her to Darjeeling and said this is our honeymoon. This picture was taken there and it is also hung in our house. We spent several days there after the shooting and our honeymoon became memorable.

When did Shahrukh and Gauri get married?

There were many difficulties in the marriage of Muslim Shahrukh Khan and Hindu Gauri Chhibber, but Shahrukh’s intentions were firm. They convinced Gauri’s family and got married twice separately on 25 October 1991 as per Hindu and Muslim rituals. After this, both of them also got registered marriage and today Shahrukh-Gauri are parents of three children, Aryan, Suhana and Abram.
