New Delhi:- Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari recently made a big announcement in the road safety program organized in Nagpur, he announced increase in reward for those who help those injured in road accidents. Along with this, it was said that good people who help injured accident victims will be given a reward of Rs 25,000, five times more than the existing reward. Gadkari further said that the existing reward of Rs 5,000 is not enough for those who take road accident victims to the hospital within the crucial golden hour after the incident. The minister further informed that the government will now cover hospital expenses up to Rs 1.5 lakh for the first seven days for persons injured in accidents.

In such a situation, the speech of Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari that he reached the hospital within the golden hour is going viral on social media. He said that his government has tried to reduce road accidents but has failed in this regard. The minister's words are also important because every year more than 1.5 lakh people die in road accidents in India. In such a situation, know in this news how you can become an angel for people in road accidents. How can you also win this prize money of Rs 25 thousand and what is the golden hour?

Golden hour is very special

The golden hour is when the patient is taken to the hospital or provided medical care within 60 minutes immediately after a road accident. Simply put, the golden hour is the critical one hour after a road accident during which a prompt response by emergency services can be decisive in saving lives. When a person is seriously injured in an accident, every minute counts, the sooner he gets medical help, the better are his chances of survival and recovery.
Let us tell you, the concept of Golden Hour was brought in 1960 by Dr. Adam Cowley, who emphasized how important the first 60 minutes are in matters of life or death. Even though the fatal outcome may not be immediate, without immediate action it may cause irreversible damage to the body. This principle does not only apply to road accidents, it is also relevant in medical emergencies, such as stroke or severe trauma situations, where reaction time is critical.

Keep in mind that during the golden hour, it is not necessary to take the injured person to a big hospital, rather it is sufficient to provide first aid to any nearby hospital. The problem in India is that during the golden hour of road accidents, there is a rush of people, which should not happen. Because, due to this, there is a delay in getting the treatment to the patient and in such a situation, sometimes the patient even loses his life.

If you want, you can save the life of an accident victim by taking some precautions during the golden hour of a road accident, know how…
Check reaction: If you are at the scene of a road accident, first check how the injured person is reacting. Let's see whether he is able to listen to you or tell you something.

Administer CPR: As a good citizen, everyone should know about CPR. It is not very difficult. Its learning video can be easily found on YouTube. The advantage of CPR is that it ensures adequate oxygen to the person's brain.
Ensure safety: If you are at the scene, you can ensure the safety of the injured person. If you are in a position to take the patient to the hospital, then you can take the patient to the hospital. Otherwise you can call someone for help.
