Ranji players earn per day

Players playing for Team India get salary worth crores of rupees in the form of annual contracts. The match fee is different. However, in Ranji Trophy players earn money on match day basis. Let us tell you that Ranji Trophy matches usually last for four days. Whereas knock out matches last for five days like test matches.

Daily salary ranges from Rs 20 thousand to Rs 60 thousand.

Ranji Trophy players get different daily salaries depending on their experience. Players who have played more than 41 matches get Rs 60 thousand per day after becoming a part of the playing eleven. He earns Rs 2.40 lakh in four days (one match). Whereas reserve players of this category get Rs 30 thousand every day. Players with experience between 21 to 40 matches earn Rs 50 thousand per day and up to Rs 2 lakh for the entire match. Reserve platters of this category get Rs 25,000 per day. Whereas players playing 0-20 matches get Rs 40 thousand per day and Rs 1.60 lakh for the entire match. The salary of reserve players is Rs 20 thousand per day.

Ranji Trophy is being played for 90 years

Ranji Trophy is being played in India since before independent India. When India was under British rule, Maharaja Ranjit of Nawanagar (presently Jamnagar) State played 15 test matches for England between 1896 and 1902 and became very popular. Ranji Trophy was named after him. Its first season was played in 1934-35.
