By the end of the month, paragliding will make its debut in the area during Araku Utsav “Chali,” giving adventure seekers visiting Andhra Pradesh’s picturesque Araku Valley the chance to fly over the sky. A successful paragliding trial fly on Sunday cleared the path for this exciting new attraction to the valley’s tourist offerings.
District collector AS Dinesh Kumar oversaw the test, which was led by trainee Alisha from Himachal Pradesh’s Orange Paragliding School and skilled pilot trainer Vijay Soni. After a number of possible locations were evaluated, including Araku, Dumbriguda, and Hukumpeta, Madagada—which is just 15 kilometers from Araku—was determined to be the best fit.
The crew claims that Madagada offers safe paragliding conditions, strategic hill formations, and perfect air. Madagada, which is already well-known for its stunning vistas, is anticipated to witness a sharp increase in tourists as a result of this new attraction.
The trial run was a huge success, according to V. Abhishek, project officer for the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), who also suggested that paragliding may be introduced during the eagerly awaited Araku Utsav.
Araku Valley has become more well-known as a destination for adventure travel in recent years. Well-liked pursuits like paramotoring and hot air balloon excursions have already attracted sizable audiences. In addition, the Forest Department’s recently built wooden bridge in the coffee gardens next to Sunkarametta has grown to be a popular tourist destination.
Araku Valley is set to solidify its standing as one of Andhra Pradesh’s premier adventure tourist destinations with paragliding on the horizon.
According to Araku Valley Tahsildar MVV Prasad and Museum Curator Murali, paragliding is anticipated to greatly increase tourism in the Alluri Sitharama Raju area.
Speaking during the recent successful paragliding trial run in Madagada, they emphasized how this adventurous activity may draw more visitors to the area.
