Maddock Films has stirred excitement with the release of Akshaye Khanna’s look as Aurangzeb from the highly anticipated period drama, Chhaava.


In the poster released on Instagram on Tuesday, Khanna is seen playing the ruthless Mughal ruler, his gaze filled with intimidation and power. Another poster reveals him adorned with the Mughal crown, perfectly capturing Aurangzeb’s commanding persona.


Announcing the release, the makers stated, “The new face of fear and terror – Presenting Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, the formidable ruler of the Mughal Empire! Releasing in cinemas on 14th February 2025.” While fans admired the transformation, many couldn’t help but compare his look to Amitabh Bachchan at first glance.










About ‘Chhaava

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava narrates the legendary tale of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. Rashmika Mandanna portrays Maharani Yesubai, while Akshaye Khanna takes on the role of Aurangzeb.


The film is based on the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant, chronicling the valiant journey of Sambhaji Maharaj, whose coronation in 1681 signaled the start of a fearless reign.
