Former has made a surprising career move a decade after stepping away from the band for a life out of the public eye, which is set to make him millions.

The former singer, now 54, rose to fame as part of the iconic boyband's original line-up in 1990, alongside Gary Barlow, 53, Howard Donald, 56, , 50, and Mark Owen, 52.

Jason's decision to leave the band in 2014 shocked fans, especially given the band's continued success with Gary, Howard and Mark, with their net worth estimated at £250 million as a group.

Despite his bandmates' ongoing prosperity, with only Robbie going solo in 1995, Jason walked away from a chunky share of Take That's earnings.

His net worth, around £24 million accumulated over his time in the band, checked out in 2014 as Take That - who has referred to as a group of his "brothers" - remained one of the UK's top-earning music acts.

However, The Sun reports that Jason has recently ventured into a new career - co-owning property business Nine The Firs, in partnership with Leicester City football legend Neil Lennon.

A source shared: "Jason and Neil have known each other for years, having played in a charity football game together. Neil has a firm and Jason has joined in."

While Jason has always preferred a low-key existence, the source added: "He's got a real flair for property" and has already sold a property, with the buyer describing him as "lovely" and "professional."

Jason's co-ownership of Nine The Firs is proving to be a promising venture. Depending on the scale of the property deals, he could be earning anywhere from £100,000 to £500,000 annually if the business is relatively small but profitable.

However, if the business continues to grow and they engage in high-value transactions, Jason's share of the profits could soar to £500,000 to £1 million+ annually.

Jason rejoined the band when they made a return in 2006. But after his 2014 exit, he admitted he'd long wanted to leave and wasn't interested in committing to new music.

Gary, Mark, and Howard continued as a trio. Jason has since pursued acting in various stage productions but steered clear of the London party circuit in favour of quiet nights in Manchester.

When Take That reunited for King Charles III's Coronation Concert in May 2023, Jason did not join his bandmates. Mark reflected in June: "I think Jason felt like he didn't want to do it anymore, but I'm not going to speak for him."

Gary also confirmed Jason's departure from the band, telling The Sun: "He's not coming back. Take That is Mark, Howard, and me for the next few years."

Howard previously revealed that Jason had gone completely off the grid, choosing to live a "normal life" in the countryside. "He's not taking calls or emails. That's good for him," Howard told the Loose Women panel in 2018.

Gary admitted in a 2020 interview: "We hear from Jason now and again, but when you reply, the email doesn't work. It's bigger than we all know. It was hard for us to watch him go. He wanted to leave."
