As a beauty writer, I've tried and tested many beauty products over the years, but the ones I would actually go on to repurchase time and time again I could probably count on my hand. I often tend to stick with affordable brands when make-up shopping, however, I do think there are some more expensive products that are worth the cost.

Day to day, I favour a natural look, and I don't like weighing my skin down with thick or heavy formulas. I first tried when I visited the King's Road store a few years ago, and I enjoyed the formula. Up until then, I had always used traditional foundations. I was spurred on to purchase as I fancied a change from the foundation I was using. Now, I now use it most days.

Trinny London is a brand created by Trinny Woodall, who often models the products herself on her social media channels. The range features skincare and make-up focusing on anti-ageing, glowing skin and natural .

costing £41, comes in a choice of five shades offering "sheer coverage" and is said to give an "instant glow". Instead of adding another layer to the skin, the product aims to help subtly even out skin tone and minimise redness. It also includes SPF 30 coverage, which is important to me, as I know my skin is protected from UV rays.

One of the most unique things about the product is its white cream formula, which looks just like moisturiser when you apply it. It seems lower maintenance, as, unlike foundation which can be messy, the colour doesn't come out until it's blended in your skin.

This effect is created by the microencapsulated pigments, which reveal themselves only when applied, and the shade is meant to seamlessly match your skin tone. The glow is one of the biggest selling points of the make-up product, and after experiencing some dullness over the last few months, I can honestly say that my skin has never looked as glowing as when I use the BFF Cream.

Some beauty fans may find the coverage to be slightly sheer, but for me, it's generally enough. Plus, the product is buildable, and if I have any skin perfections I'll just add some concealer too.

The Trinny website has a tool to help find your perfect shade, based on eye colour, skin colour, skin tone and hair colour. Despite loving this product overall, my one downside is the extremely limited shade range. With many high-end and affordable beauty brands now offering up to 33 shades of foundation, it's frustrating that is only available in five.

Both the - the (a tinted, skincare-infused serum) and the (with and a medium coverage), have many more shade options. I think the BFF cream range could be improved by matching the range of skin tones as other products in the Trinny range.

Overall, if you can get a good shade match, I would say the BFF Cream is worth the £41 for the unique formula and radiance it adds to my skin, plus Trinny London is currently offering free shipping on all orders, for a limited time.
