In an interview, Sudeep Sharma has told that he himself is from Assam and due to special attachment to that place, he has shown the matter to Nagaland in the series. Jaideep Ahlawat starrer series featured a hotel named Rulie, which is 'The Elgin Darjeeling'. The special thing is that it was built in the year 1887 for the Maharaja of Cooch Bihar. Its beauty and royal atmosphere made it suitable for the shooting of the series.

History of The Elgin Darjeeling Hotel
You must be wondering that this hotel was built for the Maharaja, so who is its owner today? In the year 1887, this hotel was the summer residence of the Maharaja of Cooch Behar. It was bought by Kuldeep Chand Oberoi in the year 1965. It was then converted into a luxurious hotel. The hotel has furniture made of British era wood.
The shooting of Patal Lok 2 is also done at this place
