Chelsea have entered the race to sign Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, who has attracted interest from multiple clubs including Arsenal and Tottenham. Ferguson, 20, is recovering from an ankle injury and is valued at £40m. Chelsea are keen to bring in a striker to compete with Nicolas Jackson. Ferguson has scored once this season.

In the ongoing race to sign Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, Chelsea has joined the competition alongside other top clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham. Ferguson, who has struggled with an ankle injury this season, is still considered one of the most promising young forwards in England. Brighton is open to either selling or loaning out the Republic of Ireland international, with a potential price tag of £40 million.

Chelsea, aiming to bolster their attacking options, sees Ferguson as a viable competitor to Nicolas Jackson, who has gone seven Premier League games without scoring. The club’s co-sporting director, Paul Winstanley, has a strong connection to Brighton, having previously worked there. Ferguson has scored just once this season but remains highly rated due to his potential.

Other clubs in the race for Ferguson include Bayer Leverkusen, who were initially seen as frontrunners before complications arose with another deal, and Tottenham, where Ferguson would be behind Richarlison in the pecking order. Arsenal is also keen on signing a striker but has limited options for domestic loans. Ferguson could have more playing opportunities at West Ham or Bournemouth. Chelsea has alternative targets, including Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
