The Forest Department conducted a major operation against illegal sawmills in Vadhu Khurd and Tulapur, seizing unauthorised machinery and registering a case under the Indian Forest Act, 1927, and Maharashtra Forest Rules, 2014. The accused, identified as Rohit Dhamake and Khandu Shivale, allegedly operated the illegal units.

On Thursday morning, a special team led by Assistant Conservator of Forests Mangesh Tate and Forest Range Officer Suresh Vark raided sawmills owned by Dhamake in Vadhu Khurd and Shivale in Tulapur. The team confiscated unauthorised equipment used for illegal wood processing, along with other materials.

The operation has sparked concern among locals in the area. The Forest Department has issued a stern warning, stating that strict action against illegal deforestation and unauthorised sawmills will continue. Authorities have urged citizens to report any instances of illegal tree felling or sawmills to ensure prompt action.
