Philanthropist and author Sudha Murty is a well-known author has contributed to English and Kannada literature and had retired as the chairperson of the Infosys Foundation on December 31, 2021. She was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2023 for her contributions in the field of social work. In 2006, she was conferred the Padma Shri.
Speaking about her personal life, Sudha Murty married Narayana Murthy, one of India’s richest men and founder of the Infosys tech company. Sudha Murty and Narayana Murthy have two children: Rohan Murty and Akshata Murty.

Coming from a middle-class background, she broke barriers by earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at a time when it was rare for women to enter a male-dominated field.
Speaking of her educational qualification, Sudha completed her engineering from BVB College of Engineering, obtained 1st rank across all branches and received a gold medal from the Institute of Engineers. She did her ME from Indian Institute of Science with distinction and started her career as an engineer with TELCO (now Tata Motors).
