The latest episode of Shark Tank India 4 featured entrepreneurs Rahul Tyagi and Samiksha Yadav pitching their innovative product—India’s first undergarment liquid wash designed for hand-laundry. Seeking an investment of ₹50 lakh for 2.5% equity at a valuation of ₹20 crore, the duo presented their unique product, hoping to impress the Sharks.
However, the panel of investors seemed skeptical. Anupam Mittal pointed out that the market already offers several detergents with similar claims. Rahul stepped in to explain how their formula stands out, but Aman Gupta raised concerns about the product’s categorization, questioning its distinct positioning in the market.
Samiksha and Rahul clarified that their product primarily caters to women’s hygiene, making it an essential innovation rather than just another detergent. However, Anupam and Namita Thapar critiqued their pitch, feeling that the duo should have emphasized the pressing issue of female hygiene rather than positioning it humorously as a "male best friend chaddi" washing detergent.
Anupam said, “There are many detergent options, including clean and green ones. Why are you complicating this? Your approach threw me off.” Namita added, “You started your pitch with humor, but vaginal infections are a major concern. You should have led with that instead.”
During the discussion, Peyush Bansal asked, “Who is the CEO?” When Samiksha confidently responded that she was, Peyush challenged her by asking, “Why are you the CEO?”
Before she could reply, Namita interjected, “Why not?” to which Samiksha firmly stated, “Because I deserve to be the CEO.”
