Towering Premier League giant Dan Burn reckons ex-England star is even taller than him - but the defender fancies he can rival Crouch on the dance floor.

Crouch and Burn are two of the tallest stars in history at 6ft 7in tall. But Burn joked: "Either I am lying or he is, because he is bigger than me!

"I saw him again at the weekend. I watched him do a bicycle kick for Stoke when I was at Birmingham City and it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen."

The Toon star came face to face with young fans for a hilarious Q&A. He faced a tough interrogation including: Who is Newcastle's smelliest player? Who has the biggest house? And what did you eat to grow so tall? (Answer: Vegetables.)

Burn, 32, agreed to perform the dance routine first seen in January 2023 after he scored his first goal for the club in the 2-0 win over City in the Carabao Cup quarter final. Afterwards, manager Eddie Howe asked him to make a speech in the dressing room to explain what the goal meant to him. Burn did a quirky combination of hips swivelling and arm waving which went viral.

He told interviewers Liv and Grace of the 'Junior Mags': "I am asked to do my dance all the time and never do it. So you are very lucky."

They then did a 'dance off' as Dan awarded the giggling schoolgirls first and second place. Burn also told how he has taught the Toon's Swedish £60m superstar Alexander Isak some Geordie sayings.

Isak now says 'Alreet wor kid?' and 'Howay man' at the training ground.

Asked what he would call a pub if he opened one, Burn said: "The Lanky Giraffe. And it would be right outside the stadium."

He reckons Toon captain Bruno Guimaraes has the biggest house, 'with seven floors'. And he was happy to discover he is the 'mummys' favourite'.

"That's very nice, I will , thank you," he joked.

Toon and England keeper gave his favourite nickname at the club; defender Emile Krafth is called 'Cheese'.

Pope's superstitions include beans and toast before every game. Asked if he had an star names in his contacts list, he said: "I haven't told anyone this yet but Thomas Tuchel the England manager called me the other day. And he is pretty famous."

Young full back Lewis Hall, 20, is hoping to get out on the Toon soon for a night out with team mate Tino Livramento, 22. Burn told Junior Magpies Ruben and Max that his favourite Magpie moment was scoring in the 4-1 win over Paris St Germain at St James Park.

He wants a testimonial where he can play and leave in a helicopter 'so everyone gets quite emotional'. He adds: "If I was Eddie Howe for the day, I would make me captain and play me centre forward."

Despite numerous offers, he has yet to order a made-to-measure suit for the Magpies Wembley Carabao Cup final against on March 16. He joked: "I got loads of messages before our first League Cup final offering to fit me for a suit. I should have taken one really."
