DSSSB Teacher Vacancy: A large number of teacher posts are vacant in Delhi Municipal Corporation. In view of this, the Municipal Corporation has decided to recruit 8000 teachers. This decision has been taken after the recently released audit report of the Education Department. It has revealed a huge shortage of teachers. This recruitment is expected to improve the condition of municipal schools.

According to the report of the Delhi Education Department, there is a shortage of 7928 teachers in the schools of the Delhi Municipal Corporation. Currently, 18,494 teachers are working in these schools. Whereas considering the number of students, at least 26000 teachers are required.

According to the report, to meet the shortage of teachers, the Delhi Municipal Corporation has sent a proposal to recruit 8000 teachers to the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board. This recruitment will be completed through DSSSB. Soon, the official notification will be issued by the board.

Recruitment process and eligibility

Recruitment of teachers in Delhi Municipal Corporation will be done through written test/interview. The posts of teachers to be recruited in the Municipal Corporation include TGT, PGT, PRT, Nursery Teacher. Graduation + B.Ed and CET for TGT, PG + B.Ed degree for PGT. Also, passing CTET is also necessary. Diploma in Nursery Teacher Training is required after 12th to become a nursery teacher.

Age limit

The maximum age limit for TGT and PGT is 32 years. OBC category candidates will get 3 years relaxation and SC/ST will get five years relaxation. The age limit for primary and nursery teacher posts is 30 years. However, the age limit for female candidates is 40 years.
