The upcoming series Dupahiya, starring Gajraj Rao and Renuka Shahane, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday.

The series, created and written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg, is set in the fictional village of Dhadakpur.

Speaking to the Times of India, producer Bains Joshi said she was excited about the project. "India's heartland is a treasure trove of stories, and at Bombay Film Cartel, we resonate with ideas that are both accessible and impactful," she said.

She lauded Nair's direction and the brilliant cast and crew brought together for Dupahiya.

Shivdasani reiterated these sentiments, calling their journey as showrunners "incredibly fulfilling" and confident about the series' success.

Known for her incredible work in Masaba Masaba, Nair expressed her excitement about directing Dupahiya.

She said, "When Shubh and Salona called me to direct this incredible script, written by Avinash and Chirag, I was so excited and so grateful."

Nair called the series a "heartland comedy" like nothing she had been offered before and hoped audiences would enjoy it as much as she did while directing it.
