Patna: The Bihar government has taken an important initiative for the land owners, making the process of land mutation (refraining) completely online. This step is not only to make the land administration simple and transparent, but also to protect citizens from the hassle of going to government offices. Now you do not need to meet an officer for mutation or go round the offices for papers. You can get your land mutated by sitting at home.

What is mutation?

Mutation means recording changes in the ownership of the land. When the ownership of the land changes, such as sales, donations or will, then it has to be updated in the land records. This process is called mutation. The owner of the land is legally recognized only after mutation.

How to do mutation process online in Bihar?

1. Go to the website: First of all you have to visit the official land website of the Government of Bihar. For this you have to click on.

2. Apply online: After opening the website, you have to click on the option “Apply online-apply online” option.

3. Clogin or register: Now you have to login by entering your mobile number. If you are a new user, then first register and then click “Apply online files”.

4. Select district and zone: After this you have to choose your district and zone (sub-division), where your property is located. After this, click on “New filing-refused application”.

5. Fill the full details in the application correctly: Now you have to fill all the necessary details for the application of mutation, such as the details of the account-khesra, the buyer/seller/descendant/stakeholder, the soldier/former Jamabandi details etc. Fill all these information correctly and completely.

6. After this you now upload the document: Upload all the documents required for mutation (such as sales certificate, registration letter, identity card, land details, etc.). Ensure that the uploaded documents are clear and correct.

7. After this you have to submit the application: After uploading all the information and documents, you have to submit your application. After submitting the application, you will get an Acknowledgment, which will have the status and reference number of the application.
