There have been significant changes in the price of petrol and diesel in the month of March. There is only one metropolis in the four metros of the country, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, where the prices of petrol and diesel have been seen. According to IOCL, only in the month of March, there has been a cut in the price of petrol and diesel in Chennai. While the prices of fuel have increased in the remaining three metros. The maximum increase of more than one rupee per liter has been seen in Kolkata. Due to which the most petrol prices in the four metros are in Kolkata. While the prices of diesel are being seen the most in Chennai. Only Delhi is the only metropolis where the price of petrol is less than Rs 100 and the price of diesel is being seen below Rs 90.

On the other hand, in the international market, the price of crude oil is seeing a rise of more than one percent. Due to which the crude oil of the Gulf countries has crossed $ 71 per barrel. By the way, in the month of March, the price of crude oil has seen more than 2.50 percent decline. Let us also tell you that at which level the price of crude oil is trading in the international market besides the metros and major cities of the country.

How expensive or cheap petrol and diesel in March

According to IOCL data, the price of petrol and diesel has been increased by 5 paise per liter in the month of March in the country's capital, Dilla. After which the price of petrol here has increased to Rs 94.77 per liter and the rate of diesel has increased to Rs 87.67 per liter.

Whereas in the month of March in Kolkata, the price of petrol and diesel has been increased by Rs 1 per liter. After which the price of petrol here has been Rs 105.01 per liter and the price of diesel has been Rs 91.82 per liter.

In the month of March in Mumbai, the price of petrol and diesel has increased by 6 paise per liter. After which the price of petrol here has been Rs 103.50 per liter and the price of diesel has been Rs 90.03 per liter.

Chennai, the largest metropolis of southern India, has seen a cut in the price of petrol and diesel. Here both have seen a decline of 5 paise per liter. After which petrol here has increased to Rs 100.80 per liter, the rate of diesel has increased to Rs 92.39 per liter.

Increase in the price of raw lete

On the other hand, the price of crude oil is being seen in the international market. On Monday, crude oil of the Gulf countries is trading at $ 71.70 per barrel with a rise of more than 1.50 per cent. On the other hand, the price of American crude oil is seeing an increase of 1.64 percent and the price has become $ 68.28 per barrel. According to Reuters reports, Goldman Sachs has reduced the December 2025 forecasts for Brent and WTI crude oil prices and an average 2026, which cited the possibilities of slow growth in demand for oil and hopes of increasing OPEC+ supply. The bank hopes that Brent will remain at $ 71 per barrel in December, which is 5 dollars less than its previous forecast, and WTI will be at $ 67. According to the report, an average Brent forecast of 2026 was also reduced from $ 73 to $ 68 and WTI from $ 68 to $ 64.
