IPL 2025: Washington Sundar makes debut for GT, Unadkat replaces Harshal Patel in SRH Khelja  |  2025-04-07 11:21:19

All-rounder Washington Sundar is set to make his debut for Gujarat Titans (GT), who're taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 19 of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) on Sunday, April 6 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

GT captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bowl first on the batting paradise in Hyderabad.

At the toss, Gill revealed that Sundar is replacing left-arm seamer Arshad Khan, who's picked just one wicket from two matches so far. Sundar was bought for Rs 3.20 Crore by Gujarat in the mega-auction. The 25-year-old played just two matches in the 2024 season for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and picked one wicket. The spin all-rounder has played 60 matches in IPL history and scored 378 runs along with picking 37 wickets.

On the other hand, SRH also made one change to their playing XI by bringing in Jaidev Unadkat in place of Harshal Patel, who's down with illness. Patel has scalped four wickets in as many games in the season so far at an average of 30.50. Unadkat was bought for Rs 1 crore by SRH in the mega auction, and the left-arm seamer has 99 wickets from 105 matches in his IPL career.

SRH will be desperate for a win in the fixture, having lost three matches on the trot, while Gujarat will look to continue their winning momentum, having won their last two fixtures against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
