The internet has been a hive of excitement since it was revealed that producer Ektaa R Kapoor was bringing back a revival of her beloved television series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

 

The original cast, including actresses Amar Upadhyay and Smriti Irani, will return to their roles as Mihir Virani and Tulsi Virani, respectively, according to earlier reports. According to Hindustan Times, even though the sources verified that the producers are in negotiations with several actors to play Mihir!

Ektaa has surprisingly not made any official announcements regarding the return of the show, but at a recent event, the producer confirmed the news and revealed that the reboot would consist of 150 episodes. She explained that the original TV show ran for just under 150 episodes in 2008 before reaching the 2000-episode mark. “The love we have for this program brought everyone to it back together to complete just those 150 episodes to reach that 2000 episode. This show deserves that,” Ektaa said.

Ektaa is also intending to introduce the other lead charactets. “We are bringing politics into entertainment, or better, a politician into entertainment,” stated Ektaa, over Tulsi’s character.

According to earlier reports, Smriti Irani, the well-known politician who portrayed Tulsi Virani in the original series, will return for the reboot.

As per a report by HT, a source quoted that Ronit Roy, Cezzane Khan, and Amar Upadhyay are still in the running for the role of Mihir.
