Sanya Malhotra says that all her roles are a combination of luck and hard work. She says,"Also, these are the films that I truly, truly believe in. I have a very strong set of values, which are always at the forefront when I'm picking characters and films, and I never let go of that. These are the stories that empower me, and I also hope they empower other women and young girls who watch them. Growing up, I always craved such characters and films. I felt like - I also want to be empowered—because earlier, in films, women were often reduced to being props, to be honest."

She continues,"There were really good films, but there weren’t as many strong female characters back then. I'm glad that change has happened in the industry. People are writing such films and such characters now, and I feel very lucky to be an actor in today's world. So, I never, ever let go of my core set of values. I want to see women like Richa (Mrs.), Sandhya (Pagglait), and Mahima (Kathal). I want to see such stories because those are the stories that have inspired and empowered me. I just hope that whenever a young girl watches me on screen, she feels that same sense of empowerment."
