New Delhi: Cristiano Ronaldo and Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kingsman, collaborate to open UR•Marv, a new film company that combines Hollywood inventiveness with the influence of football stars. Ronaldo’s entry into the realm of film and international entertainment is his largest to date. In partnership with renowned Hollywood director Matthew Vaughn, Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is poised to establish himself in the film industry with a new production firm called URMarv.

Ronaldo is already a world-renowned figure who has built his brand through watches, apparel, and fragrances. Now, he wants to make a lasting impression in the movie industry. The URMarv studio will bring together the worlds of sport and film by fusing Vaughn’s fame and experience as a filmmaker with Ronaldo’s widespread popularity. Ronaldo announced his new studio on social media with a unique message. He only launched his own YouTube account in August of last year, and in just a few short hours, he broke the platform’s record for views and followers.

What Ronaldo had to say

One of the richest sportsmen in the world and a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo has frequently talked about life after football and is more interested in his other commercial endeavours than coaching a club or national team. Now at the age of 40, he has started to make usual headines both on and off the pitch and this has to be one of them.

“This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business,” Ronaldo said in a statement.

Vaughn has an impressive portfolio with him, having directed and produced popular series like Kingsman. His most recent project was the spy-thriller Argylle, which starred Bryce Dallas Howard and Henry Cavill in 2024.

“Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him – he’s a real-life superhero,” in the same release, Matthew Vaughn stated.
