A 30-day window has been established for the prompt settlement of land succession issues. Facilities for same-day registration and mutation have been made accessible under the Act. Every landholding will also be given a distinct Bhudhaar ID.
Mahabubnagar: Anirudh Reddy, the MLA for Jadcherla, has praised the recently introduced Bhu Bharati Act (Land Rights Record Act-2025) as a game-changer for farmers across the state and a significant step towards addressing long-standing land concerns. The MLA, who was the main guest at an awareness event on Thursday in Jadcherla’s Chandra Garden, said that the Act will provide long-overdue help to impoverished farmers who are struggling with land issues. Speaking at the ceremony, Anirudh Reddy said that the Act was introduced by the State administration, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, after extensive discussions with tax authorities and legal experts.
Farmers will no longer have to rush from office to office thanks to this Act. Revenue authorities would instead visit the areas to address problems,” he said. Additionally, he spoke about his own experience with the Dharani system, which did not uphold the rights of legitimate purchasers. “My mother and I too had problems with Dharani. Major issues were created by faulty inputs and fraudulent registrations, he said. He said that these shortcomings were intended to be addressed by the Bhu Bharati ROR Act.
Speaking to the crowd, District Collector Viziyendira Boyi declared that the Act became operative on April 14, Ambedkar Jayanti. Given that 90% of the complaints made during Prajavani meetings are related to land concerns, she underlined the need for raising awareness. Similar to Aadhaar for people, the Act creates the “Bhoodhaar Card”, a unique ID for each piece of land.
A two-tiered appeals mechanism is also introduced, enabling unresolved matters to go from Tehsildar to RDO to Collector and ultimately to the Land Tribunal. The Act was draughted with assistance from renowned legal expert Bhoomi Sunil, who called it “a legislation built to last for generations.” He disclosed that over 30 lakh individuals might profit from this Act and that 25 lakh farmers in Telangana deal with land issues of some kind.
Revenue authorities will hold village-level land grievance redressal camps from June 2 to August 17. Telangana’s land management system is about to undergo a radical change with the deployment of more than 6,000 professional surveyors.
